Hello Rosie,

I started homeschooling my daughter Katie this year (she is 8). When we were still trying to make a decision about homeschooling, I did a lot of searching on the internet about it, and I discovered your Center for Home Education. We had no idea that there was such a wonderful place to learn, and right here under our noses! I had passed by the place many times and did not know what it was. I went inside with lots of questions and uncertainty about what to do that was best for my daughter, and I came out knowing in my heart that homeschooling and The Center for Home Education was the place for us. I truly feel that God led our family to this wonderful place. Katie is in Fairy Tale Theater right now, and is really enjoying it. Thank you so much for creating this place!

Dear Rosie, Steve, Anicia and staff:  Dan and I just want to thank you for your outstanding theatre program!  Our son, Bryson has been involved with CAIA/The Center for 3 years and every performance is so professional and entertaining.  It is amazing what Anicia and the students bring to the stage each time.  We are very grateful to have a place that provides excellent instruction in a fun and wholesome environment.  Although the drive has seemed long at times (we live in Carrollton) we KNOW that it is worth the time, distance and gas money!  Thank you!  Sincerely, Dan and Krystal Funk

Dear Rosie,

I wanted to share my heart with you today. I am compelled to give you

a very sincere thank you for your gift of birthing the Center for Home Education once again. Today was one of those pictures in my mind’s eye that will not soon be forgotten:

I walked in the Center to buy Wizard of Oz tickets. As soon as I got out of the car I was welcomed loudly by two of the seniors, “Hello, Mrs. Coan!” (I LOVE our group of seniors). I walked into the center to a very professional looking coffee shop with my son behind the counter taking orders. (What a marvelous things to provide an opportunity for students to learn about having a “real job” without a huge weekly commitment and in a secure, nurturing environment.) There was a line, but he seemed very calm and in control of the situation, and greeted me as I walked in. I was then greeted by hugs of students and a very joyful Mrs. Cranford walked by (actually, that is her usual look). Grace took off for Triple Threat, which has been an answer to prayers for her. She loves the performances, the team, Mrs. Anicia... Benjamin was just coming out of literature class. His favorite subject is science, but he really needs the extra help in literature. He gets that at the Center. The place was alive--with joy, enthusiasm, friendship and yes, learning. That was just today. There is more...

On Wednesday Joshua had a project due in science. He did a presentation on the stars. Our entire family enjoyed working on the project and hearing his practice presentation. Mrs. Bare is perfect for Joshua, she is patient and encouraging, and Joshua is proud of his work. That same afternoon, I led the senior session group. Carissa Scroggins and Marshall Sherman spoke to our group and gave them some insight into life after High School as a home school graduate. Their presentation was informative and encouraging for all of us. We had some good, deep discussions after the presentation. What a great group of seniors they are!

Today, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for your “yes” to the Center. It is a beautiful, living, free place where lives are changed and learning occurs. No, it is not a perfect place, but it is perfect for our families and many others like ours.

I am so grateful.

As a now-homeschool-grad, I consider The Center for Home Education as one of the most impacting aspects of my highschool experience. Not only did it provide great opportunities to form new friendships, the teaching and expectations held by the Center challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone. Their emphasis on the arts encouraged me--in a gentle but oh-so-helpful way--to "step it up" in my communication skills as well as in regard to interpersonal communication. The Center was an integral part of my education and overall growth as a person.
Thank you all very much,

Hannah Farver

My primary interest this year in attending the Arlington, TX annual Homeschool Book Fair was to search out different writing programs and hopefully find a better alternative to the one I have been using with my children (ages 10, 8, 7, and 5). After sitting in on two seminars and spending many hours examining books and materials, I was about to leave the book fair discouraged and with little enlightenment toward a better writing program, when I came across the Total Language Plus booth. In only 10-15 minutes, the enthralling representative (Rosie Watson) had drawn me into the philosophy of your program, and I quickly knew that there was something different and "right" about this curriculum. Once my kids were all in bed tonight, I eagerly opened up your website to examine the materials more thoroughly, and I spent over an hour studying the sample literature lessons and reading your biography and the history of your program. Even without using the program yet, I can tell that it has been written and organized with excellence! Having taught Language Arts for over 10 years in both public and private school as well as at home, I can honestly say that I have never seen materials that encourage critical thinking skills so well, while providing essential activities that are both student and teacher-friendly but are not simply "time-fillers." Although I am familiar with the Charlotte Mason classical approach, I haven't used it much because I have always been afraid that I would miss teaching essential skills by using a less-structured approach. However, I believe that your program will allow me to teach my children those essential Language Arts skills and develop their critical thinking skills in a manner that we all will enjoy. My desire is for them to have a passion for reading and writing so that they will be able to communicate their faith and Christian values and beliefs effectively. I truly believe the Lord guided me to this program today, and I thank Him for doing so. Thank you, also, for being so open to His leadership and for sharing your wisdom and insight in such a powerful way! My vision for teaching Language Arts has been transformed today! May God bless you richly!
