Artistic Pursuits Book 1 Grd 9-12 Elements Of Art & Composition

Artistic Pursuits is a comprehensive art program designed to involve the student in the creative process while developing observational skills. Books offer a complete overview and easy to understand introduction to the subject of art. Each book includes a set of fine art prints by the masters to aid students in understanding concepts introduced. Books are written to the student and require little or no teacher preparation. This book includes 16 units, each exploring an element of art or compositional arrangement. Four projects in each unit cover creative thinking, art appreciation with a focus on European art, techniques used in pencil and charcoal, and a final project requiring students to synthesize information to create personal works of art. Students explore various subject matters, and work from a variety of references including landscape, still-life, and photographs in 64 projects. 9th-12th graders will have fun learning and be challenged in assignments that guide students to mature artistic expression.
