Fall Production (Literary Classic with music) - A Christmas Carol
Charles Dickens’ famous tale of Ebenezer Scrooge’s transformation from embittered skinflint to generous benefactor has been dramatized by John Mortimer with typical flair and wit in this definitive adaptation, premiered by the Royal Shakespeare Company. A panoramic view of Victorian London is created with all the much-loved characters – miserly Scrooge, the loving Cratchits, faithful nephew Fred – in place.
“John Mortimer’s adaptation …is exactly like that extraordinary little tale: boisterous, sentimental and compassionate; fairy-tale and social criticism, moral parable and family entertainment, appealing to the grown-up in children and the child in grown-ups.” - - Sunday Times
