Computer Technology can be overwhelming in today’s world.
Content-Basic Keyboard functions (not a typing class), Word Basics, including, open, print, style & format, margins, columns, insert pictures, spell check;
Power Point basics including, creating slides, apply layout, graphics; and Excel, including schedules and budgets.
This class will be project based. Skills will be taught and then applied to creating a report, family newsletter, slide show, etc. We will use topics such as current events and assignments from classes. We will be importing graphics and data from the internet. While the students are in class they will be closely monitored to make sure content of website data is age appropriate.
Requirements-Students will use computers supplied by the Center for Home Education while in class, but will need access to computers at home for homework.
Curriculum-Zoom-Type (available in the bookstore)
Class Time: 1 1/2 hours. This is a 16-week semester, 4 month, class.
Teacher Biography:
Tamara has a BS in Accounting from Brigham Young University. She worked as a financial analyst for Consolidated Freightways in Portland, Oregon until her oldest daughter, Reagan was born. Since then, her family has added two boys and they have lived in Washington, Tennessee and now the great state of Texas. Tamara has been a Cowboys fan since she was five and claims she wasn’t born in Texas but got here as fast as she could. She has taught all ages in Sunday School from age 18 months to 90 years old. Right now she teaches and plans the activities for the young women ages 12 -18.
