Science is FUN!
Children are naturally inquisitive and want real answers to their questions. They also learn best through fun, hands-on experimentation. This class combines these two ingredients to guide students into scientific thinking and investigation while equipping them with the foundational knowledge they need to think critically about the world around them.
We will study scientists and perform experiments to explore some of their ideas. We will take difficult theories and try to apply them to the real world. This will be a fun class to get young people exposed to complicated scientific principles through hands on observations.
Class Time: 1 1/2 hour - This is a two-semester, 28 week class.
Biography:
Kathy begins her 6th year of teaching with the Center for Home Education. She has a B.S. in Secondary Education and has taught English, Spanish, and ESL in the public school system. She left teaching for a while to be the Teen Court Coordinator for the North Richland Hills Teen Court working extensively with young people. She taught Spanish to preschoolers and Kindergarteners at Discovery School while her children were there at preschool. Although teaching is one of her passions, her greatest passion is God and then, her family. She is especially proud of her two amazing children, Camille – age 13, and Nicolas – age 10. She thanks God everyday that He bestowed and entrusted such incredible gifts to her.
