Stanford Achievement Testing
A Bob Jones Testing and Evaluation Service
The Center for Home Education will be hosting the Stanford Achievement Test for Grades 2 - 8 beginning May 17th, 2010.
(We recommend students in high school take the PSAT, ACT or SAT.)
The Stanford Achievement Test is a nationally standardized test. It is not a timed test and is given each spring. It evaluates students at various grade levels in the following areas:
- Word study skills(K5-grade 4)
- Reading Skills/Comprehension (K5-grade 12)
- Vocabulary (grades 2-12)
- Mathematics (K5-grade 12)
- Language (grades 1-12)
- Spelling (grades 1-12)
- Social Studies/Science (K5-grade 12)
- Listening (K5-grade 8)
Stanford results provide:
- Scaled, percentile, grade equivalent scores
- Achievement percentiles graphed
- Content cluster skills evaluations
- Skills performance ratings
Approximate testing time for the complete Stanford battery:
6 hours over 2 days for grades 3 - 6
7 hours over 2 days for grades 7 & 8
(All test groups will have a 10 minute rest break each day, plus each grade level has a separate listening sub-test.)
The cost of the Test is $44.00 and there is a $45.00 administration and postage fee. Total Cost $89.00
(There is a minimum number of 5 students in each testing group.)

The Center for Home Education will also be hosting the OLSAT (Otis-Lennon School Ability Test).
The Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT) is offered only in combination with a Stanford Achievement Series test. It is available for grades 4-8, and results include verbal and nonverbal (including quantitative) scores.
Features:
- Assesses student's thinking/reasoning skills using verbal, quantitative, and non-verbal communication/symbols
- Measures abilities necessary to learn and succeed in school
- Can reveal what to expect of a student and why a certain subject area may be challenging
- Companion achievement test results compare ability with actual school achievement
OLSAT testing results provide:
- Ability/Achievement comparison
- School Ability Index scores
- Age/Grade Percentile scores
Approximate testing time for the OLSAT:
- 1 hour (The OLSAT is still a timed test.)
The cost of the OLSAT / SAT test from Bob Jones is $63.50 and there is a $55.00 administration and postage fee. Total $118.50. This test has to be administered at a separate time from the Stanford Achievement test.

Tests will be administered by Amie Pollock, a qualified Stanford test administrator.
