H.S. Logic

Teacher: Jeffrey Chadwick

Cost: $15/week for 32 weeks
$25 material fee

There are many problems and challenges students can face.  The objective of this course is to teach a practical, functional, strategic approach to help students reason well and to improve analytical and problem solving skills. We will use examples from math, science, the Bible, current events, and problems/situations the students want to bring to class.  Some of the techniques that will be taught are proper problem identification, risk analysis, elimination, most simple solution, critical thinking steps, and creativity.  We will also apply the primary skill of distinguishing between symptoms and the real issue.  Our objective is to create an environment that encourages the wisdom that every assumed conflict does not have to create panic.  Instead, a path to peace can be discovered for whatever life gives us.  Don’t forget, lemonade MAY NOT be the best thing to make when you receive lemons.

Curriculum/Required Text(s): Students are not required to purchase material for this course. However, in the class we will be utilizing the book The Thinking Toolbox: Thirty-five Lessons That Will Build Your Reasoning Skills. Activities for the class will include worksheets and projects from the book. Mr. Chadwick will distribute these in each class as necessary.
