Description:

This comprehensive language arts and literature studies course will cover vocabulary, spelling, and reading comprehension while promoting active reading and reflective and critical thinking. Literature studies will provide the stimulus for writing and will give students exposure to the language, elements, and methods of writing, focusing on the six traits of exceptional writing (ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, mechanics) plus in-class presentations. All language arts skills will be challenged and refined through classroom activities, assignments, and projects.

Spring semester:

3) Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte - TLP Guide and novel
