The "Learning with Lego" class, taught by Pamela Baker, is an engaging and interactive program designed for Kindergarten through 3rd-grade students. This class combines the fun and creativity of Lego building with educational activities to enhance various skills and knowledge areas. Through hands-on experiences, students will explore concepts in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM), while also developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Class Benefits:

1. Enhanced Creativity: Lego building encourages students to think outside the box, fostering their creativity and imagination. They will have the opportunity to design and construct their own unique creations, allowing their ideas to come to life.

2. Improved Problem-Solving Skills: As students engage in Lego building challenges, they will encounter problems that require critical thinking and problem-solving skills to overcome. They will learn to analyze situations, identify solutions, and adapt their designs accordingly.

3. Hands-on Learning: The hands-on nature of Lego building provides a tangible learning experience. Students will actively manipulate the Lego bricks, enhancing their understanding of spatial awareness, geometry, and basic engineering principles.

4. Collaborative Learning: The class promotes teamwork and collaboration among students. They will work together on group projects, fostering communication, cooperation, and the ability to share ideas. This collaborative environment encourages students to learn from one another and develop social skills.

5. Introduction to STEAM Concepts: Through themed Lego challenges, students will explore various STEAM concepts. They will learn about simple machines, structures, basic coding principles, and scientific principles such as gravity and motion. This exposure to STEAM subjects at an early age can spark an interest and lay the foundation for future learning.

6. Boosted Confidence: As students complete Lego projects and overcome challenges, they will gain a sense of accomplishment and build confidence in their abilities. This confidence can extend beyond the classroom and positively impact their overall academic performance.

7. Fun and Engaging: The "Learning with Lego" class is designed to be enjoyable and engaging for students. By incorporating play and hands-on activities, students will have fun while learning, making the educational experience more memorable and impactful.
