Apologia’s Exploring Creation With Chemistry and Physics, for 6th-7th grade, taught by Tanya Stuart, will give students a firm foundation of physics and chemistry. This course gives glory to God as children discover the foundational elements of the universe and the building blocks of creation. They will study how the Universe functions through this exploration of matter and energy; lessons cover atoms and molecules, pH levels, types of mixtures, mechanics, laws of motion, dynamics of motion, energy, waves, light, machines, magnets, and more. Each class period they will be doing fun and engaging activities and experiments to reinforce what they will be reading at home. Please make sure students are completing the assigned reading and taking notes in the Notebooking Journal at home as they read. This is an excellent way to introduce them to note taking in upper level classes. We will be discussing the notes in class.

The student textbook provides engaging hands-on activities to help them solidify the concepts they are learning. The Notebook Journal provides students with recording experiences, observations, thoughts, learning vocabulary, and engages students in the scientific process.

Classroom and Homework Expectations:

● Students will be required to come to class prepared with homework done.

● They will be expected to participate in class.

● Assignments will be given on Google Classroom. This needs to be checked regularly.

● There is an expectation of 2-3 hours of work per week of homework.
