In Intro to Sewing, we will have lots of fun learning all about the basics of sewing. Â
Students will learn about:
How to sew using a sewing machine, needle, and threadÂ
How to choose and use a variety of fabrics for different projectsÂ
Learn sewing terms that are in patterns and instructions
Step-by-step project process to make multiple small projects, such as pillows, a small tote bag, and many other fun items
How to make simple clothes such as a skirt and pajama pants Â
For this class, you don't need any sewing experience!
Here's what you will need...
A sewing kit, which must include:
Thread
Needles
Scissors
Pins
Sewing measurement tape
Fabric marking pencil
Fabric Scissors (Fiskar is an excellent brand)
Regular scissors for cutting patternsÂ
Students must also have a sewing machine to bring to class each week. I recommend Brothers, and you can usually get them for $100-$150 online. Must be standard size.
  Â
Optional, but highly recommended: Traveling case for the sewing machine!
