Exploring Creation with Marine Biology focuses exclusively on marine biology and marine habitats, from microscopic creatures to the largest animals on earth, the blue whales. We will cover the characteristics of our ocean, living organisms in those oceans, and all of the unique environments existing throughout this watery world. We will finish the year looking at ecology and human impact on our oceans.

Marine Biology is a lab-based course. To learn this material, we will complete weekly labs including using microscopes and completing dissections, specifically a clam, starfish, and a dogfish shark.

There will be approximately 3-4 hours of homework per week. This will include reading the text, answering review questions from the text, completing at-home tests, finishing informal lab write ups started in class, and studying for quizzes. There will also be two reports assigned in this class that will require a 3-5 page research paper and presentation.

Prerequisite: High School Biology must be completed before taking this class as we will be building off what we have already learned in the pursuit of application to this specific environment.
