Students, grades 3rd - 5th, will learn about basic musical concepts such as: rhythm, melody, harmony, pitch, and an introduction to basic note reading. This class will prepare them to play more advanced instruments in band or orchestra class. The students will learn by playing the recorder, writing music, and playing games.
Benefits of Learning to Play the Recorder:
Teaches students how to read music.
Learning to read anything is important and learning to read music is a lifelong skill that can be
used in all parts of future music education.

to each other to make the music “sound” the way it should.
It helps develop a “musical” ear.
It helps to develop our eye and hand coordination.
It helps develop fine motor skills.
It can help our self-confidence and self-esteem.
It helps develop problem-solving skills.
