This class will use the days of creation as an introduction to a wide range of scientific concepts. We’ll start with day one and the creation of light looking at the nature of light and energy conservation. We’ll move on to day two and study the properties of air and water. Day three will take us to earth science and botany. We’ll visit our solar system on day four and learn about living in water and flying in the skies on days five. We’ll finish day six with some zoology and basic aspects of human anatomy and physiology. As the students learn about these diverse scientific concepts, they will constantly be reminded of the Creator who fashioned the marvels they are studying.

This scientific journey through creation will include weekly labs, crafts, and activities. Concepts will also be discussed in class and learned through games and review. There will be no required tests but take-home tests will be provided for any student that is looking to practice test-taking and would like a grade in the class. Google Classroom will be used to track assignments for those parents that choose to have grades provided.

There will be weekly reading assignments out of the textbook with the thought that the parents will read the book with the student so as to be aware of what is being learned. This should encourage further at-home study and family discussion to increase learning.

Students should be able to read and write for this class but there will be no necessary reading in class and reading at home can be done by the parent. There will be minimal copywork done in class.
