In a world that relies on screens and keyboards for communication, the art of handwriting is seen less and less. And many students don't understand the importance of a signature! This class aims to boost cursive handwriting skills for teens, 8th grade and up. We will incorporate creativity to increase your students confidence at writing and reading in cursive. Lessons will be used for refreshing (and learning) cursive writing. Once students are comfortable writing cursive, we will move on to reading and comprehension of cursive writing. We will utilize some art projects for creative practice, historical documents to practice reading, and even letter writing will be used to become fluent in reading and writing in cursive.

Homework will be a part of this class. Practice makes perfect!

Students will be expected to practice their handwriting skills, and later on their reading comprehension, at least 3 times per week. Homework should take approximately 30 minutes each day.

As they year goes on, they will also be encouraged to begin using cursive in their daily lives and even to complete other classes homework where applicable.
