Theatre is great for kids with a love of the spotlight or those wanting to come out of their shell.
This class is meant for those with no theatre experience or very basic knowledge who want to
learn and get better at acting! I recommend taking this class alongside the Production classes
either in the spring or fall semester.
Some of the skills we’ll be going through include:
Volume/Projection
Enunciation/Diction
Theatre Terms
Stage Directions
Expression
Mime
Adlib/Improvisation
Audition tips
Stage Presence
We may utilize some reader’s theatre scripts or monologues, but there will not be a performance
at the end of the semester or in the showcases.
Required supplies:
Water bottle
Highlighter
Pencil
Folder for handouts
Clothes they can move around in and shoes that will stay on their feet and be good for the
surface of the stage. Jazz shoes are highly recommended.
Hair will need to be in a ponytail or otherwise out of the face.
Requirements:
Ages: 14 and up
