Barry Teague is a homeschool father of two who holds his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (1992) and his Master of Business Administration (1995) from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. His two children are currently pursuing degrees at Texas A&M University. In his extensive Electrical Engineering career of 27 years he attained the rank of Director of Electrical Engineering over 80 employees in four different states. During that time, he was a design Engineer, team lead, and administrator for various companies in the Defense and Telecommunications Industries encompassing mobile phone and cellular base station design and production as well as infrared camera system design and production for the U.S. Department of Defense for distinguished companies such as Nortel Networks, Texas Instruments, and DRS.
As an administrator, Mr. Teague had the opportunity to create and teach curricula in the corporate environment on a variety of topics including How to Make Successful Presentations, Scientific Concepts of Infrared Camera Technology, Laser Safety, and Electrostatic Discharge Procedures. As a homeschool father, Mr. Teague had the opportunity to support his family as a tutor and part-time instructor, but also as a mentor and assistant coach for four years for a homeschool robotics team which competed in the Dallas BEST Robotics Competition winning First Place Overall for Non-Public Schools at State in 2016 and special recognition for Best Presentation Team Overall also in 2016.
Today, Mr. Teague and his wife, Katherine, have stretched their entrepreneurial wings and now run a small Accounting Services Firm specializing in small businesses (such as the Center for Home Education) and non-profit organizations. Additionally, Mr. Teague is excited to have the opportunity to contribute to the homeschool community by teaching Economics at the Center for Home Education.
