Welcome to beginner theatre! Designed for students who have little to no prior experience.
Here you’ll learn all the ins and outs of auditioning for, rehearsing, and performing a full-length show!
We will take two semesters to accomplish what we do in two months with our seasonal shows. In that time, we will learn everything about being in a full production and also have plenty of time for asking questions along the way.
We will start by learning how to audition and audition well! Once we do that, we will simulate a callback environment and cast our show and or assign our crew positions if that’s preferred.
Once we have a casted show, we start rehearsals where you will learn blocking, teamwork, staying in character, practicing and performance.
Along the way we will have opportunities to give insight on building character, memorization tips, and mood setting through lights, set design, and sound.
At the end of the first semester we will have a recital where the classes can show off their audition pieces and an excerpt or two from the show they are working on.
At the end of the second semester we will perform the full show compete with costumes, intermission, bows and all that comes with putting on a full show!
This year we will be putting on the production of The Trial of The Big Bad Wolf.
Comfortable, modest clothing and shoes that stay on the feet during every rehearsal.
Notebook, folder, and pencils.
Simple costumes will be the responsibility of the student’s family. However, the Center may rent pieces to students on a case by case basis.
